The Pali Cannon, written in Sri Lanka among 600 BC and 100 BC, states that sexual relations, whether of homosexual or of heterosexual character, is forbidden during the monastic code, and states that any functions of sentimental homosexual sex (which include masturbation and interfumeral intercourse) won't entail a punishment but must be confessed
